IAHR Strategic Plan 2005-2009 adopted, online
The General Members' Assembly in Seoul, 16 September 2005, adopted the new IAHR five year Strategic Plan.
IAHR's mission is defined as
To be a world-leading independent community of research and best practice in fluid mechanics; hydraulics; and water and environmental engineering and management.
Its aims are
- Facilitate and promote the global sharing of information and expertise among water professionals;
- Foster a dynamic, global community of water professionals and institutions with a strong regional perspective;
- Attract young professionals and serve as an indispensable career-long anchor for water professionals;
- Facilitate active collaboration between researchers and practitioners;
- Promote a more interdisciplinary approach in areas of interest to our members, and promote the role of our community in the global water dialogue by collaborating with peer organizations to provide maximum efficiency and scope in services to, and representation of, our members and the wider community;
- Provide member services and publications support, through a financially viable Secretariat.
